Why Join the Code 4 Northwest ?
A message from Dr. Amber Smith, DMFT, LMFT
Thank you for expressing your interest in joining our referral database — a dedicated resource connecting first responders with culturally competent mental health professionals who understand the unique experiences of responders. Your commitment to serving this community means more than words can express, and we are grateful to have you as a potential partner in this critical work.
We are writing to kindly urge you to complete your application as soon as possible. Every day that passes is a day that a firefighter, law enforcement officer, paramedic, veteran, or active-duty service member may be searching our database for a provider — and not finding you. The need for specialized mental health support within this community is urgent and ongoing, and your inclusion in the database could make a life-changing difference for someone reaching out for help.
Why Your Timely Participation Matters:
● First responders and military personnel often face significant barriers to seeking help, including stigma and limited access to providers with relevant training. A robust, readily available referral database of vetted providers helps lower those barriers.
● The demand for providers in this specialty area consistently exceeds supply. Your profile in the database ensures that those in need can find you quickly and confidently.
● Completing your application now means you are visible and available to those who may be searching today — individuals who may be in crisis or finally taking that first courageous step toward healing.
Completing Your Application:
The application process is straightforward and should take no more than 20–30 minutes to complete. You will be asked to provide information about your licensure, areas of specialization, experience working with first responders, accepted insurance and payment options, and availability for new clients. If you have already begun your application, we encourage you to log back in and finalize your submission. If you need assistance at any point, our support team is available and happy to help. Our team will follow up with you after completing the application to schedule an interview to get to know you better. After the interview, which should also take only 30 minutes at most, our clinician overseeing the project will review your information for inclusion in our referral database.
The men and women who serve our communities and our country deserve access to care from providers who truly understand what they carry. By completing your application today, you are taking a meaningful step toward being that provider for someone who needs you.
We sincerely appreciate your time, your expertise, and your dedication to those who have served. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need support completing your application.
With gratitude,
