Steve Johnson is a Washington native and a 27-year veteran of law enforcement, currently serving as an investigator for the King County Sheriff’s Office. Deeply committed to the well-being of his peers, Steve is a leader on his department’s peer support team and volunteers as a call taker for Code 4 Northwest.
His dedication to first responder wellness is rooted in his own journey; after seeking help in 2019, Steve found a deep, personal connection to recovery and has since become a fierce advocate for those in his field. He is currently working toward becoming a licensed Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP). Upon retiring from law enforcement, Steve plans to transition into clinical work, offering specialized treatment, counseling, and recovery services tailored specifically for first responders struggling with substance use.
When he isn’t helping his wife, Courtney, raise their four children, Steve can usually be found adventuring in the backcountry of the Cascade Mountains.
