I joined the Code 4 Northwest Board of Directors because I deeply believe in its mission and have personally witnessed the powerful impact it has had on the lives of friends and peers I’ve referred to its resource line for support. Those experiences reinforced my commitment to ensuring that first responders and their families have access to compassionate, effective care when they need it most.
My connection to this work is both personal and professional. As the son of police officers, a former spouse to an officer, and a member of a family with multiple law enforcement professionals, I understand firsthand the unique challenges, pressures, and sacrifices that come with the profession. These experiences have shaped my perspective and strengthened my dedication to supporting the well-being of those who serve.
I have served as a police officer for more than 30 years, advocating throughout my career for a more supportive, trauma-informed culture within law enforcement. I currently serve as the Police Chief in Sumner, Washington, as the Team Lead for the WASPC Executive Peer Support Team, and as the Executive Director of the Police Activities League of Sumner, where I remain focused on building trust, resilience, and stronger community connections.
In addition to my professional journey, I am a survivor of both cancer and PTSD. These experiences have further deepened my empathy and commitment to helping others navigate adversity and access meaningful support. I am honored to contribute to Code 4 Northwest’s mission and to help advance a culture of care, understanding, and resilience within the first responder community.
